Hello forum,

I just downloaded and booted ctkarch (0.7).
I think it offers some cool features like addons, persistency, ...

Most of these do depend on aufs.
Unfortunatly aufs is now somehow "deprecated" in arch.
Current archiso switched to device-mapper for its copyonwrite layer.

Just wanted to ask, how you will handle these changes in ctkarch.
Will you port to device-mapper, or keep using aufs ?

As far as I know, I can't have more than 2 filesystems unioned with device-mapper, so I think I'll keep using AUFS.
I talked about this here: ctkarch.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1&t_id=1#post1-1-269

I also think AUFS (or other stackable fs) is needed for a "feature rich" livecd.
dm just lacks to much in functionality.

How can i setup a dev-environment for ctk on up2date archlinux ?

What exactly do you mean there?
Rebuild the livecd with the current repositories?

Yes, exactly.
1. Think it needs some packages not in arch-repos, eg: aufs, aufs-enabled-kernel, ...
2. Also think it needs older version of archiso-git.
3 . .... ??

Well,
3. archiso must be adapted to mkinitcpio 0.7 (0.6 may not work with linux3)
Maybe there is an aufs-based branch on archiso's git repository?

That's all basically. I'll be doing this soon.
I have a 2.6.39 development iso that dates back to this summer. (made with mkinitcpio 0.6)
