I've installed CTKArch and I've followed the instructions written here.
And all goes well, until I reach the part were I execute the command "pacman -Sf wicd".
At which point, it gives me the following error:
Quote:
error: inetutils: signature from "Eric Belanger <eric@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
error: python2-urwid: signature from "Daniel Isenmann <daniel@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
error: wicd: signature from "Daniel Isenmann <daniel@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature))
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

It seems that the authentication method is not working any more. Since, whatever package I try to install, it now gives me the same error. Like, if I try reinstalling "pacman -S archlinux-keyring":
Quote:
error: archlinux-keyring: signature from "Pierre Schmitz <pierre@archlinux.de>" is unknown trust
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature))
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

And this didn't happen when I executed the command "pacman -Syu" in the third instruction.

I've execute the commands "pacman-key --init" and "pacman-key --populate archlinux" repeatedly, and I can see the PGP keys being added, but, for some reason, pacman doesn't seem to be using them(?).

Problem solved!

It was my fault... :P

The "pacman-key --init" and "pacman-key --populate archlinux" procedures, after the pacman update, might had just been implemented the day before I tried to install CTKArch, but after some more testing, I figure out what was wrong.

The thing is that, when one executes the command "pacman-key --populate archlinux", although most of the options present a "[Y/n]" prompt (as it is, from what I see, the case in many other pacman operations), at a certain time, in the keys update procedure, when it reaches the part where it tries to install the "Master Signing Keys", it presents a "[y/N]" prompt - so, if you just press Enter, like in the other questions it asks, it will not install this particular keys, and pacman will not work because of that.

I "populated" the keys database again with this procedure, and when I pressed "y", instead of Enter, at the mentioned part, it then installed the needed keys, and pacman worked after that.

I'm very sorry about this...

The thing is that, being dyslexic, I am very prone to this kind of lapses and mistakes. And with Arch Linux configuration procedures being all text-based, where a small difference in the size of a letter, in this case, makes all the difference, it's very easy for me to not notice it and to make this kind of mistakes. :P  eheh

Sorry, once again.

You can mark this thread as (solved).

Hmm, the guide should have worked (you'd end up with no package signing though).
Will recheck.

Yes... The guide did work, and I was able to update CTKArch, after I finally realized what was wrong... I was the one that was not paying attention in one of the steps, and that was the reason why I couldn't proceed any further.

After being aware of that, and not making the same mistake again, everything went well.

Although, you might want to add the "pacman-key" procedures and the special command one now has to do - in order to update the "filesystem" - to the CTKArch update instructions, for any newcomer that doesn't know yet that s/he has to be aware of the latest news.

Yes, I checked and updated the guide!
It wasn't you, the guide was outdated.
